Having a poopy day today. Woke up with plans to go for a run out in these sharp Long Island winds because, not only did Hofstra cut the football team, but they got rid of our gym for TWO MONTHS! These avant garde looking nik-naks have been around for a few months now. I've seen them at Forever 21 and H & M, but I never quite understood the point of putting jewelry on fabric.

These pieces are extremely technical and can easily go wrong, which is why I was like, wtf, how can this be done. I suggest wearing bib necklaces in a matchy-matchy fashion. If your necklace background, the fabric, is white then the top you're wearing should also be white. If the foreground, the jewels them selves, are silver then wear silver shoes. Wear them with high collared blouses/dresses. It looks silly to have ornate jewels dangling over cleavage.

Avoid bib necklaces that actually look like you could use it to wipe your food with. Lean towards shapes that aren't so rounded off. As always, if your necklace is all black then anything goes! You can get a simple or ornate design. It's all up to you and the possibilities and options are endless. I do not recommend wearing any other jewelry when rocking the bib necklace, as it can lead to possible diva combustion.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Every morning, I go to the gym and see the same girl on the elliptical going a million miles aper hour. Her skin is yellow and she has dark circles around her eyes. And every morning, just as I am leaving the gym, she is ready for another round on a different machine. I'm not one to jump the gun on people's body situation, but I get so concerned when I see this girl who looks like she is about to collapse.

Obvi, I am a fashion junkie. With that comes a constant flow of images displaying thin models. I am not super thin, and although I used to feel the pressure to lose weight, I now know that one can be feroshe regardless of dress size.

Last month, Karl Lagerfeld (official fashion wackadoo) was quoted to have said "Fat mummies sit there in front of the television with their chip packets and say skinny models are ugly." He has also put "fat people" on his (very very veryyy exorbitant) list of things he hates. Cindy Crawford says that if us "fat mummies" want to see a change then we should just not buy fashion mags with super-duper skinny models. Both Dove and Glamour Magazine have both been praised by the media and women for puting spotlights on average women and plus sized models.

I'm pretty much ready for a Body Image Revolution. Hearing perfectly normal sized girls complain about their weight is not only getting repetitive, but just plain disheartening. The last thing I want to see is that girl at the gym sweating her life away because Lagerfeld or other pro-thin people are telling women to put down the chips.

Nope. I'm gonna keep eating 'em.

I took my first ever trip to Anthropologie the other day and I was floored. I am the pickiest shopper in all the land and I walked in and liked EVERYTHING. The best thing about this store is the craftsman ship of their pieces. Everything is so well-made and just plain artistic. I have been feverishly looking for a one-stop shop for pieces that are unique and intricate. The only downside is that the clothes are pretty expensive, but on a whim, I would absolutely splurge. I am tired of the humdrum of the cardigans I currently own. Anthropologie has taken cardigan sweaters to a higher level, adding ruffles, pop up satin flowers, tulle, and tiers. Another wonderful thing about this store is the sizing. They go from an XS to XL! My biggest pet peeve is getting a size large sweater with skinny baby arms (Cough cough Urban Outfitters....I see you...) Everything is reasonably sized and flattering at Anthro'.

Let's face it. Even though we are still in college, we're young adults trying to get our foot in the door through internships. (I already got mines. Fox News Radio. Get on my level.)

Ahem -- but I digress.

If you are planning on going to internship fairs or interviews, sure it's important to research the company, speak well, and relay your thoughts in an organized manner. BUT it is also important that you LOOK as intelligent as you are trying to sound. I went to the School of Comm Internship Fair a few weeks ago and some people were looking all types of DUMB.

I saw a girl with her hoop nose ring in -- take any unnecessary metal out of your face and cover your tattoos!

I heard of a (certain specific girl that everyone knows-- mhm, y'know who ya are...) wearing a pencil skirt that was a) too short b) too damn tight (cased sausage chic, anyone?) and c)too much slit. In general, pencil skirts are not forgiving or appropriate business attire.

I would never recommend a pencil skirt for a first interview. Instead, I would opt for something with a wider hem, so that when you sit down during your interview, you don't have to worry about giving your (hopefully) future employer a free strip show. Slits are also a huge no-no. If the slit is longer than your thumb, don't wear it on an interview!

Other tips:

Keep it MOMMY CHIC -- this means keep it very modest. You can find mommy chic clothing at JCPenny, Macys, Lord &Taylor, Anne Taylor Loft, New York & Co, and Club Monaco
You can never go wrong with a simple white button up and a jacket.
No Cleavage what-so-ever.
Tuck that shirt in. I don't care if you feel self conscious about your tummy. If that's the case where a damn blazer.
If you are going to wear a dress -- keep it at knee length. Try to avoid patterns and stick to dark colors. Also, try to wear it with a jacket.
No Pumps (keep your heel to a maximum of 3inches)
No open toed shoes.
Black, white, navy, and grey are corporate colors.
Keep your makeup very natural and simple.

I hope this blog post saved a ho from walking into an interview looking like a pig in a blanket.

Mike is everything in my home. My parents came to the United States in the 1980's during the height of his career. Roni (119 St Marks Place) is a two-level boutique in the East Village with tons of trendy and do-it-yourself styles. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by a young Italian woman who was eager to help. I had my eye on a lot of the trendier dresses, but they were things I knew I couldn't fit in, so I was just planning on window shopping. She was nice, but she forced things on me that would fit my frame, but did not compliment my figure at all. She picked out tons of drapey, shapeless, high necked dresses with bubble skirts. I was appauled. She had me up in that store looking like Nikki Blonksy, and even though she had my best interests at heart, I felt like the fat kid who couldn't fit into anything at Kids R US! She was even nice enough to let my friend and I use one of her own belts to cinch our dresses (even though that crap had me lookin like a stuffed sausage in a balloon. Sure, size 4 woman -- give the size 14 girl your belt to try on PFFT!) She tried to give me advice, telling me I needed to push my breasts up when I wear a high collared dress. (Thanks for basically telling me I had saggy breasts, bitch.) I am a very picky shopper, especially because of my size. Everything from the frabic to the color has to be perfect and complimentary to my shape or I will not purchase! She was very patient with me and even gave me some leggings to try on with a dress she thought would look better as a tunic. Unfortunately, the legging were a size negative nothin' so you know damn well I was feeling some type of way. The Italian woman did well by my friend, styling her in all sorts of intricate ways and it seemed as though she had experience in professional styling. I wouldn't reccomend Roni to anyone over a size 12. I am a size 14 to a 16 and all that was left for me were dresses that had me looking like Ricki Lake BEFORE the weight loss.

Stella Dallas Look (218 Thompson Street)is a vintage thrift shoppe in Greenwich Village, near Washington Square. When I walked in, the store was tiny and cramped. As I usually am with thrifting in the city, I was worried that the prices would be obscene. To my surprise, most of the items at Stella Dallas Look are REASONABLY priced. There were boots, bags, dresses, vests, and gloves, among other things. There was a great leather bag there for only $50 which could have gone for double at any other thrift store in New York. The dresses are mostly from the 1950's-1970's and in decent to perfect condition. I am not a big thrifter, but I recommend this shoppe to any thrifter on a budget.

The boyfriend blazer works well with dressier cotton shorts, short patterned dresses, or a mini length high wasted skirt. It compliments silky, feminine tank tops. It's my new favorite thing.

Lately, I have witnessed a lot of sneaky ish on campus. A common word to describe someone who is sneaky and does hurtful things on the low-low is "sketchy." The term sketchy can be relevant in many situations.

Example:

Jealous Girlfriend - Why didn't you answer the phone?
Bust Down Boyfriend - I was takin' a nap.

This is sketchy because it is a little white lie, instead of just telling the truth. It could be that the boyfriend was watching a really important game on TV and didn't wanna be bothered so he pulled a sketchy move. Whatever, it's wrong, but understandable.

Not all things are sketchy. Some shit is just straight up perpetrating and some people are damn suspects. If someone goes out of their way to blatantly do you wrong, they are perpetrating to the max. If someone goes out of their way to be sneaky, deceive, or mislead someone, they are being suspect.

My, my, my. It's been a long time since I've written about my ridiculous escapades on the Hempstead strip. Besides people getting capped at Popeyes, armed robberies, and getting threatened at ATMs by a man...(or was that a woman? We couldn't tell -- nonetheless, a crack fiend), life has been relatively free of fuckery. I obviously spoke to soon as I thought that same thing last night. The events that unfolded will go down in tomfoolery history.

I was at the Saloon for Greek Night (which I never attend in an attempt to avoid events like the ones I am about to describe.) I was feeling alright, but drinking moderately so my common sense was not impaired. I started to dance to Single Ladies with a guy who I assumed was gay. HELLO, I mean it was SINGLE LADIES! One thing about me, I only grind when I am blacked out or assume that you are GAY. Period. I'm not a slampig. I don't get down like that at the Diz for all to see on the regular. Anyway, we're dancing...We're dancing. He can't keep a two-step going, but it's fine. In my mind, this man is obviously gay and the most fun gay I have ever danced with. "I have found my gay best friend," I thought. My heart fluttered in excitement. All of a sudden he is starting to put his back a little too far into it...I grew confused.

I shrugged and assumed this was just gay for "you're fun" I replied by telling him he was so much fun!!! "FINALLLY," I thought, "A GAY BESTFRIEND TO CALL MY OWN!" This is something every girl longs for. A gay bestfriend to dance with in attempts to ward off the straight male predators. Just as this thought crossed my mind...it happened.

HE KISSED ME. Eyes wide and shocked, my initial reaction was to HIGHTAIL it out of their like a bat out of hell.

I asked my sisters if he was gay. One of them said, "no, he told me he wanted to make out with you."

Me and my sisters are going to see the beautiful and feroshe Lady GaGa in two weeks at Terminal 5 in NYC. So, obviously only ONE question arises.:
